UCC opens Applications for 2020/21 Mphil and PhD Research Fund in Oils and Gas Studies

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) College of Humanities and Legal Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Oil and Gas Studies has opened applications for Mphil and PhD Research Fund in Oils and Gas Studies for the 2020/21 Academic Year.

Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Applicants must be Ghanaians who are already enrolled in postgraduate programmes (PhD or MPhil) at the Institute for Oil and Gas Studies, School of Business; School of Economics, and School of Development Studies in the University of Cape Coast. Preference will be given to those who have already completed course work.

  1. Applicants must be interested in conducting research in Ghana’s petroleum and energy sectors in areas specified above.

  1. Applicants must submit a preliminary research proposal, which must include (but not limited to) background to the study, statement of the problem, objectives, research questions/hypothesis, theoretical or conceptual framework, methodology, and a description of the expected results.

4.MPhil applicants must have an undergraduate cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.0, and for PhD applicants, at least a CGPA of 3.0 for both undergraduate and MPhil is required.


  1. Special emphasis is placed on gender balance. Scholarship Scope: The scholarship covers tuition fees and research grants (two years of research work for PhD students and one year of research work for MPhil students).

Timelines:
