Management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has instructed its lecturers to stop all forms of online assessments as it has decided to do so when academic activity resumes physically.
In a notice signed by the Director of Academic Affairs, Jeff Teye Onyame, lecturers were reminded of a decision taken to the effect online academic work should be limited to teaching.
Jeff Teye Onyame added that any assessment conducted online would be non-scoring.
“We wish to remind all teaching staff of the decision taken at the emergency meeting of the executive committee of the academic board held on 8th April 2020 that online academic work should be limited to lectures and tutorials. All practical sessions, assessments (Quizzes and assignments) and examinations are to be conducted on campus upon students’ return. I am to inform all concerned to comply with the decision of the executive committee of the academic board and that online assessment carried out will be non-scoring,” a part of the statement reads.

Some tertiary institutions in the country have decided to conduct the end of semester exams online as they are keen on ending the academic year even as schools have been closed down.
Following that, they have respectively revised their examination grading system.
