Primary and Kindergarten (KG) Teachers are expected to receive their Teacher Mate (TM) 1 laptop by the middle of September, the Ashanti Regional GNAT Chairman has said.

According to the chairman, all Primary and KG teachers will receive their laptops by the middle of September.

Speaking on the GNAT Hour radio show on July 27, 2022, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, Prosper Takyi said that;

”All Primary and KG teachers will receive their laptops by the middle of September. A mop-up exercise will be done after September. ( hence those at the SHS/JHS who have still not received theirs shouldn’t get perturbed.”

He was speaking on questions regarding the late distribution of laptops that the teachers have already paid for.

Prosper also said the Data plan for members in the Ashanti region has started ( 25gh for 10gig)

Salary Equality

Prosper indicated that the union leadership and the Trade Union Congress are fighting for all workers and article 71 holders to be at the same salary level on the Single Spine Salary Structure.

Salary Increment

Mr Prosper said Leaders are aware any salary increment below 20% will worsen the condition of teachers and workers next year, hence will fight for an appreciable percentage for 2023.
