Teachers in the wadiig D/A primary in the saboba district in the northern region have embarked on a self-funded teachers quarters project.
The teachers, who have been faced with accommodation problems have decided to embark on the project for survival.
According to the teachers, lack of accommodation is not the only problem they face, it constituted the first worry to them because of the negative impact it has on teaching and learning.
They have therefore mobilized resources on their own to put up quarters which when completed will reduce absenteeism and lateness to school.
The headteacher Mr Liyab Philemon who is also the master builder is calling on philanthropist and other benevolent organizations to come to their aid.
He said all the teachers live in the saboba town and have to travel each day to school which is 24miles away after a lot of efforts were made to wadiig community members to provide them accommodation proved futile.
