Teacher Unions kick against post-retirement extension contract of Ghana Education Service (GES) Deputy Director-General Anthony Boateng.

The extension of the retirement period for Dr Anthony Boateng, Deputy Director of the Ghana Education Service over the weekend has received a lot of criticism from the general public and stakeholders.

Addressing the press on Monday, August 22, 2022, the leadership of Teacher Unions of pre-tertiary institutions expressed their displeasure towards the news on the post-retirement extension of the deputy director.

They demanded that Dr Anthony Boateng rejects this offer in order to allow whoever is next in line for the position to step in.

They further stated in their release that if the same deputy director is at post by 30th September 2022, they will call on their members to disregard directives from him.
