Ferdinand | EducationGhana |July 01| Teacher Trainees: How to Obtain, Verify and Retrieve Your NTC Indexing Number

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has implemented a new indexing system for trainee teachers in order to streamline the registration process and ensure efficient record-keeping.

To obtain your indexing number, follow these simple steps:

    1. Visit any Prudential Bank Branch nationwide.
    2. Pay an amount of GHC50 as the indexing fee at the bank
    3. After making a successful payment, you will receive an SMS containing your indexing number. This number serves as a unique identifier for your registration.
    4. If you do not receive the SMS, you can utilize the transaction number indicated on your payment receipt as an alternative means to retrieve your indexing number.
    5. To verify and update your details, go to the official website of the National Teaching Council: indexing.ntc.gov.gh.
    6. Make sure to keep your indexing number safe and secure, as it will be required for registration for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

How to verify your NTC Indexing Number

To verify your forgotten indexing number, follow these simple steps:

    1. Visit the official NTC Indexing Portal website at indexing.ntc.gov.gh.
    2. Locate the option or link that says “Verify Your Indexing Number” and click on it.
    3. Input your Indexing Number accurately in the box/field given.
    4. Click the “Submit” button or a similar prompt to proceed with the verification process.
    5. The system will process your request and display a feedback message regarding the status of your indexing number. This feedback will indicate whether your indexing number is valid and recognized by the NTC.
    6. Review the feedback message carefully. If the message confirms that your indexing number is valid, it means your registration has been successfully indexed and recorded by the NTC.
    7. If, for any reason, the feedback message indicates that your indexing number is not valid or unrecognized, you may need to contact the NTC directly for further assistance. They will be able to provide guidance and support in resolving any issues with your indexing number.
