St. Augustine’s College Headmaster Dismisses Food Shortage Claims, Assures Adequate Supplies

The Headmaster of St. Augustine’s College, Rev. Father Godfred Appiah, has reassured parents, guardians, and stakeholders that the school has adequate food supplies to cater to its students, contrary to recent media reports alleging shortages.

In a letter dated November 23, 2024, Rev. Father Appiah clarified the situation, emphasizing the school’s commitment to student welfare and transparency.

Food Supplies Confirmed

Rev. Father Appiah stated that the college received substantial deliveries of food items from the National Buffer Stock Company on the following dates:

  • November 4th
  • November 9th
  • November 13th
  • November 19th
  • November 21st

“These deliveries have ensured a well-stocked inventory in the school’s warehouse,” he said. “Claims that students are not being fed properly due to a lack of food are both unfounded and untrue.”

Kitchen Operations During TEWU Strike

The headmaster also commended the kitchen staff for their dedication during the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) strike. Despite the industrial action, meals were consistently prepared for students, demonstrating the school’s prioritization of their well-being.

Assurance to Stakeholders

Rev. Father Appiah invited stakeholders to visit the college for firsthand information about the food situation, stressing the institution’s commitment to transparency.

“We remain committed to ensuring the welfare of our students and addressing any concerns promptly,” he assured.

Conclusion

St. Augustine’s College remains steadfast in maintaining its reputation for excellence and student care. The clarification from the headmaster aims to restore confidence among stakeholders and dispel unfounded rumors regarding food shortages.
