The National President of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana, Mr. Anthony Dadzie has stated that the School fees being Charged Trainees at the public Colleges of Education was too high.

He called on government through the Parliament of Ghana, to take a second look at the fees being charged Trainees at the Various Public Colleges of Education.

The President made this revelation at the 24^th Annual General Assembly of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) at Fosu College of Education in the Central Region   over the weekend.

Mr. Anthony Dadzie lamented on the inability of trainees to pay their school fees due to its exorbitant nature.

According to him, the leadership of the Association seek a reduction from the Leadership of the Conference of Principals (PrinCoF) ,but were later informed by the Principals that the fees were being charged directly by Parliament.

He called on parliament to as a matter of urgency,look into the fees being charged College of Education Trainees for the 2018/19 Academic year as well as subsequent years.

Allowances

The President thanked government for the restoration of Trainees’ Allowances

He further showed his displeasure with regards to the delays in the disbursement of the allowances.

\He called on government top endeavor to release funds to Student Loans Trust Fund (SLTF) on time so that trainees can receive their allowances in earnest.

CETAG Strike

Anthony Dadzie in his speech, indicated the adverse effects of the earlier strike action by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) .

He called on their tutors and government to come to terms with their differences before the commencement of the second semester.
