Over 500 BECE Candidates stranded in Saboba due to flood

Over 500 eligible candidates for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from 16 schools in the Saboba district in the Northern Region are stranded due to flood.

The schools include Kucha Junior High School, Nnalog Junior High School, Kunkuzoli EP Junior High School, Kuntuli Roman Catholic Junior High School,  Demong District Assembly  Junior High School, Kpalba Evangelical Presbyterian Junior High School, Wadiik District Assembly Junior High School, Borgbaln District Assembly Junior High School, Wapuli District Assembly Junior High School, Holy Trinity Junior High School, Lifur District Assembly Junior High School, Natagu Junior High School, Ugando Junior High School, and Namongbani District Assembly Junior High School.

Candidates from the above-mentioned schools cannot access the exam centre because the various roads are cut off by flood due to the spillage of the bagre dam in Burkina Faso.

Parents of the affected candidates and other stakeholders are calling on the government to as a matter agency come to the aid of these students.
