Kwesi Atuahene, an aspirant for the presidency of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) for the 2022 Academic Year has mourned with the fraternity of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) after an accident that claimed the lives of nine of its students on Sunday dawn.

In a statement issued on March 13, 2022, Atuahene said he has spoken to the UEW SRC president Felix Donor to confirm the tragic incident.
”I just got off the phone with H.E Felix Donkor, SRC President of UEW,He has indicated that it has not yet been confirmed that our 9 cherished students returning back to school after a long UTAG Strike are dead.” He said.

”Myself and team, I have decided to put a hold on our outreach in Volta to reach out to the Officials of UEW and the families of these students.”
