Nominations for 2021 EDUCOM Awards Opened

Neogenics Education has opened nominations for the 2021 edition of the Education Community (EDUCOM) Awards.

EDUCOM AWARDS  is a high profile event to recognise the contributions and all the valuable educational related work that is undertaken within the education space and communities across Ghana by schools, students/pupils, parents, media houses, publishers, agencies, NGOs and other individuals or organisations.

The Awards Nomination ends on June 30, 2021.

O# AWARD CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
01 Special Education Provider Award A school/organization that personalises effectively promotes and embeds inclusive practices that best prepare learners with educational needs for adulthood and making a success of their future lives.
02 Educational Book/Blog Award Consistent contribution to the knowledge of learners through writing/publishing of books, educational blogs, eBooks etc.
03 Educational Supplier/Publisher Award Supplying educational resources (books, teaching materials etc.) to schools to the satisfaction of the schools.
04 Student Advocate/Achievement Award A student who has made outstanding academic progress in spite of prevailing challenges OR a student who has successfully advocated for other young people either through writing, negotiations, interventions or representations at SRC or school leadership.
05 Education/School Leadership Award This award recognises heads of schools and institutions who have provided inspirational leadership, motivated staff, children and young people across the school during the Covid 19 global pandemic and inspiring all to fulfil their potential.
06 Teaching Assistant & Support Worker Award This award honours office staff in schools or the education office who show a track record of dedication and willingness to go every mile to get the work done.
07 School Contribution to Local Community Award A school that has influenced their community (local, district or region) and has contributed anyway to their socio-economic status.
08 Outstanding Digital Tool in Education Award A business, an app, software or a novel technology that has the ability to influence/drive educational achievement, teaching and learning.
09 Inspirational Teacher Award This award recognises teachers who are bringing learning to life by engaging and inspiring all children and young people to fulfil their potential within their subject area. Consistently giving their learners a daily memorable experience
10 Innovative and Resilient School Award Schools who have recovered from the Covid 19 global crisis by finding innovative ways to reach out to students in order for teaching and learning to continue.
11 Lifetime Achievement Award This award is for teachers who have dedicated their life to the teaching profession and are approaching the end of their career. These people will have had a significant and positive impact on the people they have worked with over the course of their teaching career; from pupils and colleagues to educational stakeholders and within their local community.
12 Most Improved School Award This school must promote creativity and enterprising activities among its students over a period of time. Also, it should have made progress since its inception in terms of opportunity for students, enrolment and student performance.
13 Outstanding Early Years Provision Award This award recognizes an early years setting that is excellent at offering the prime areas of learning: communication and language; physical development; and personal social and emotional development, and at promoting the characteristics of effective learning.
14 Media Contribution to Education Award Radio & TV Stations, Print Media houses etc consistently supporting or promoting educational programmes with the aim of raising achievement in schools as partners, sponsors or unique initiators
15 The Scribe Award A writer/an author of a book or an educational blog that has contributed significantly to student’s knowledge and inspired them in any way to fulfil their potential.
16 Creative Digital Teacher Award A teacher who effectively uses ICT and creative ways in teaching and learning and consistently models good practice for other teachers and students to follow.
17 Student Entrepreneur/Innovator of the Year Award A student who has a startup project and ensures great entrepreneurial skills that solves everyday problems.
18 Business/NGO Contribution to Education Award This category recognises businesses that have made the most imaginative attempt to help learners access education and consistently supporting or promoting educational programmes with the aim of raising achievement in schools as partners, sponsors or unique initiators. This category recognises establishments/NGOs who have transformed the life chances for young people through effective partnership
19 Green School Sustainability Award This category recognises whole-institution commitment and impact to becoming a sustainable organisation with a passionate commitment to helping pupils develop as environmental citizens and green ambassadors for our planet. The winning school will have raised the bar when it comes to a whole-school approach to sustainability, finding innovative approaches to exploring a range of issues across all aspects of school life.
20 Parent of the Year Award This category recognizes the important role that parents play in education in schools and in individuals children’s learning. Taking into consideration the scope of their willingness to defy all life’s odds to make it happen for their children and others.
