The Ghana Education Service has said that there is no cut-off point for entry into the Senior High School.
The Director General of the Ghana Education Service,Prof.Kwesi Amankwa indicated that entry into SHS is done using the Standard 9 System.
According to him,the Standard 9 system places students in schools based on the scores of individual candidates.

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service,Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa made this revelation on Starr FM,an Accra based radio station’s morning show dubbed ‘‘Time with the CEO” hosted by Francis Abban on Monday,April 15,2019.
He indicated ,the system does not fail candidates but rather gives them weak passes.
Prof.Amankwa indicated that selesction of students is competitive based on their choices of schools .
He added that students who could not make it to any of their selescted schools could be given the opportunity to re-write the papers either by registering for the BECE Resit Exams or join their juniors to re-register.
