Kumasi, Ghana. The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has called for innovative, creative, and critical thinking to be aroused in every student. He made the call at a teachers’ forum in Kumasi on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
The minister said that the objective of implementing educational policies is to produce students who are innovative, creative, and critical thinkers. He said that these are the qualities that will enable students to succeed in the 21st-century economy.
The minister urged the heads of the various sectors of education to ensure that these objectives are achieved.
He said that the future of the next generation rests in our hands and that we must do everything we can to give them the best possible education.
The minister also encouraged directors to do their best to make public basic schools desirable for pupils to be enrolled in.
He said that this can be done by ensuring that the schools are well-equipped and that the teachers are qualified and motivated.
As the forum concluded, participants left with a renewed commitment to fostering an educational ecosystem that not only imparts knowledge but also nurtures young minds to be inquisitive, analytical, and imaginative.
