Lectures is expected to resume at the University of Cape Coast today, Thursday October 31, as flood waters have receded.
Wednesday night’s heavy downpour forced school management to suspend all teaching activities to prevent any casualties.
According to the Central Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation, Joe Donkor, the flooding was a result of choked drains on campus.
But a recent statement by University management have disputed these claims.
They explained that “the University by its topography serves as a conduit for water flowin from high grounds into the sea and this situation occurs anytime there are torrential rains.
The statement added that Wednesday’s flooding situation on their campus cannot be linked to chocked gutters.
The University boasts of a very clean environment with clean gutters, as such the floods cannot be linked to chocked gutters.
The University further mentioned that it was deliberating on finding ways to mitigate the problem
