Mr Nicholas Obeng, a final year Chemical Engineering student of the Kwame Nkrumah of Science and Technology (KNUST) has emerged winner of the ‘What do you know’ quiz competition.
The competition was organised by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) through its Department of Gender in collaboration with UNESCO and the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA).
The competition, organised in commemoration of International Women’s Day (IWD) was held at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Studio 2 on Sunday, 6th March 2022.

The event comprised three rounds, with candidates answering questions about women’s empowerment and an overview of International Women’s Day.
Mr. Obeng won a cash prize of GH¢1000 and other prizes after defeating two female students from the University of Ghana and a KNUST alumnus.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Director of MoGCSP, Dr. Afisah Zakariah expressed the Ministry’s gratitude to all sponsors of the IWD celebrations for their enormous support and thanked the contestants for performing creditably at the quiz competition.
At the end of the competition, the rest of the contestants also received cash prizes for their efforts.

The Dean of Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, Professor George Yaw Obeng congratulated the winner for making the University proud.
He encouraged other students to participate in national and international competitions.

The competition was graced by the Director of the Department of Gender, Madam Faustina Acheampong, some staff of the Department of Gender, some officers from UNESCO and UNFPA.
