The Ghana Education Service is expected to recruit some 40,093 graduates from the Colleges of Education and the Universitiestobe distributed to the public Basic Schools for the 2021/22 Academic year.
This was contained in a statement issued by a group known as The Newly Trained Teachers Forum, on October 21, 2021.
According to the statement, the leadership of the group had a meeting with the Ministry of Finance on October 21, 2021, over the delay in the issuance of financial clearance to enable the posting of newly trained teachers from the colleges of Education.
The group outlined the following outcomes from the meeting;
The delay of Financial Clearance
The statement indicated, that after thorough deliberation with the deputy minister of finance in charge of all financial clearance for employment, the Deputy emphasized, that the Ghana Education Service, GES submitted the list of 40,093 to be cleared for recruitment.
She further indicated, that the number sum, fitted for4 clearance was more than the number submitted for the previous year.
The statement said the number included Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff from colleges of Educvatio0n and the Universities.
She however said that the delay in the issuance of the financial clearance has been due to the huge number of people submitted by the GHES for recruitment.

Assurance of Recruitment
In addition, the group said the Deputy Finance Minister, Hon, Abena Asare Osei has assured them that Newly Qualified Teachers shall be employed within the year with the financial clearance being issued in November 2021.
Government Priority
The Deputy Minister said the Newly Qualified Teachers from the Colleges of Education still remain the government’s topmost priority when it comes to the employment of teachers in the classrooms.
