EducationGhana, April 15, 2021: The National Teaching Council (NTC) has issued a directive informing all qualified teachers emplotyed before September 1, 2018 to log on to the NTC’s Teacher Portal Ghana (TPG) via tpg.ntc.gov.gh and register for their License.
The NTC in a letter issued to the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) on April 14, 2021 said that the deadline for the registration of teachers for their licenses is May 7, 2021.

Qualified Teacchers
According to the NTC, a qualified teacher is a teacher who has been been traiened and certified by accredited Colleges and Unuiversities who train teachers.
Licensiure Exams
According to the NTC, all teachers who were employed by the Ghana Education Service after 31st August 2018 are required to pass a Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination to merit the License and registration number.
The NTC said the provisional license of such teachers shall be replaced with their official license during the general teacher licensing exercise for in-service teachers.

Consequences
The NTC noted, that teachers who shall fail to register for their licenss before the stipulated deadline shall loose their right to practice as teachers in Ghana in accordance with Section 64 (1) of the Education Regulatory Bodies Act, 2020, Act 1023.
