The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has issued a statement cautioning the author of Golden Social Studies for Senior High Schools ,Mr. Emmanuel Asare Donkor to desist from selling books which the author supposedly claimed was inline with the New Curriculum for SHS.
The book, according to NaCCA , has content relating to Same Sex Family System.
NaCCA, in a statement issued on November 10,2019 said heads of Junior and Senior High Schools as well as parents should desist from buying books that have not been approved by the Council.
The statement further said that NaCCA was yet to begin review of the JHS and SHS curriculum ,adding that the current curriculum was reviewd in 2010 and 2012 respectively.

Same Sex Family System
For the past weeks, Ghanaians took to social media to show their displeasure regarding a topic in the Golden Social Studies for Senior High Schools which described Same Sex Family System as part of the Nuclear and Extended family systems studied mostly in Ghanaian textbooks.
