The government has paid the Legacy arrears of Teachers, Vice President Dr. Bawumia has said.
The Vice President made this revelation in his presentation during the Launch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Manifesto for the 2020 Elections at the University of Cape Coast.
The Vice President added that the New Patriotic Party Government has abandoned the three-month pay policy it inherited for newly-recruited teachers.

“We abandoned the three-month pay policy we inherited for newly-recruited teachers, and have cleared the legacy arrears,” He said.
Allowances
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia indicated that for the First Time in the history of the Country, teachers are being paid a Professional Teachers’ Allowance.
“For the first time in history, teachers are being paid a Professional Teachers’ allowance” He said.

Capitation Grant
The vice added that the NPP Government has doubled the capitation grant given to schools at the Basic Level to help in the administration of the schools.
“We have more than doubled the capitation grant to Schools,” He said.
