JUST IN: Ghanaian Teacher reunites with family after Testing Positive for COVID-19

A teacher with the Ghana Education Service (GES) has reunited with his family after Testing positive for COVID-19.

The teacher, who is a member of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT-GH)  is reported to have been infected by the virus.

Speaking at the stakeholders meeting held by the President of the Republic of Ghanan, Nana Akuffo Addo with the pre-tertiary education unions in the Jubilee House on Tuesday, May 26,2020., the president of the CCT-GH, Mr. King Ali Awudu said the teacher has been discharged after testing negative.

According to him, the teacher, who is a member of the Association, was tested positive for COVID-19.

He added that the said teacher was assisted by the Union and has been treated by health professionals at an isolation centre.

He further clarified, that the teacher-tested negative after some weeks and reunited with his family.

The President appreciated everyone for attending to his invitation and requested if we get in touch with our members even in these Covid-19 period.

The meeting, which was meant to discuss the re-opening of schools saw notable personalities in attendance.

The attendees include; His Excellency the President, Chief of Staff, representatives from the Ministry of Education, Gov. Task Force on Covid-19, Some Presidential staff(Eugene Arhin and Nana Asante Bedituo and others) The Director-General of the GES and his two Deputies, Chairman – GES Council as well as the Union Leaders and their Secretaries (GNAT, CCT GH, NAGRAT, TEWU)
