JUST IN: Final Year JHS students to resume June 29 for Academic Work – Akuffo Addo

President Akuffo Addo has stated that all final year students in the Junior High Schools (JHS) across the country are to report to their various schools on June 29,2020, to continue with their Academic work ahead of their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The President made this revelation on Sunday, May 31, 2020, during his tenth state address on the update of events concerning  COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the President, JHS 3 classes will comprise a maximum of thirty (30) students.

”Prior to the opening of schools and universities, the Ministry of
Education, and the heads of public and private educational institutions, will
fumigate and disinfect their institutions.”

”Each student, teacher, and non-teaching staff will be provided with re-usable face masks by the Ministry of Education.”

Other Students

”For the avoidance of doubt, all other educational facilities, private
and public, for non-final year students, will remain closed.”

”The Minister for Education, in the coming days, will outline, in detail, the specific guidelines
for the safe reopening of our schools and universities.” He said.

Current COVID-19 Case in Ghana

Ghana has recorded 8,070 cases of the Novel Coronavirus.

The recoveries have also increased to 2,947.

This was announced by the president during his live televised address to the nation on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

Per the new figures, 189 new cases have been recorded since the last update and 106 persons have also recovered from the disease.
