Bewuanum Anglican Basic School honoured two teachers for their distinguished contributions towards the development of the pupils,staff and the entire school community during the 2018/19 Academic year.
The event which took place at the School compound on Thursday,July 25,2019 ,saw the two teachers ,Mr. John Amoah and Mr. Stephen Akosa being crowned the Best Teachers representing the Over all and Primary Department respectively.
The two were Awarded with Citations of Honour by the School’s Academic Board and the Circuit Supervisor representing the District.
The Awardees
Mr John Amoah
Mr. John Amoah, who teaches English Language at the Junior High School Department was adjudged the Best Teacher at the JHS and subsequently being given the Over All Best Teacher for the 2018/19 Academic Year.
He currently holds the position of the Vice Chairman of the Obrachire Circuit Academic Board and has been recognized for his contributions towards Academic activities in the School,Circuit and District al large.
John,also holds the position of the School’s Guidance and Counseling Coordinator and also an active member of the School’s Academic Board.
Amoah Completed Komenda College of Education from the Central Region with a Diploma in Basic Education and was posted to the above mentioned school in September 2009 where he taught at the Primary Department for several years before moving to the JHS Department.
He pursued his education at the University of Education,Winneba where he was Awarded a Bachelor Degree in Basic Education.

Mr. Stephen Akosa
Mr. Stephen Akosa was adjudged Best Teacher at the Primary Department. He completed Komenda College of Education in 2017 with a Diploma in Basic Education and teaches Basic Four.
Popularly known as Sir Rapper,he has been very contributive to the development of the school within the Academic Year under discussion.
He is an active member of the School’s Finance Committee as well as Sports Department.
He is known for his contribution towards the development of the pupils and staff of the school.
He also helps to develop the talents of the pupils in Sports,Music,and Cultural activities.
Community Involvement
Presenting the citation to the two awardees,the Headmaster of the School,Mr. Prosper Dorkenoo, applauded the two teachers and suggested the decision to involve the community during subsequent years’ awards.
He congratulated all teachers in the school for their contributions towards the development of the school.
He called on Parents to show much interest in their wards’ education. He advised the parents to take the talents and aspirations of their wards very seriously,and to create and promote the already existing school-community relationship that exists between the two parties.

Community Appreciation
The chairman of the School Management Committee,Mr. Afakyew ,congratulated the teachers in the school ,most especially the awardees for taking up such positive initiatives to help develop the community.
He called on parents to help support their wards’ education and not only wait on government.
Our Day Celebration
The award presentation which forms part of the School’s annual Vacation Day event,popularly referred to as ‘our day’ saw some of the pupils also taking part in several activities.
The pupils exhibited their talents in music,drama,poetry, fashion and a comedy show to grace the occasion.
Some pupils who distinguished themselves in such areas as Academic,Sports,Discipline,Morality. etc were given recognition to motivate others.
To promote Cleanliness and Discipline among the pupils, the various Sections in the School were awarded for their contributions toward the development of the school in such arrears.

Bewuanum Anglican Basic School is located in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
The school has some of the best teachers in the country who demonstrated continuously, their love for the promotion of teaching and learning in the school.
