Homebase TV begins Teaching and Learning Programs for Basic 1 to JHS 3 Learners

Home Base TV in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES is rolling out a teaching and learning programme for the benefit of Basic 1 to JHS 3 learners who are currently at home due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The program,according to report gathered by EducationGhana, is very interactive as children are allowed to send questions to a dedicated whatsup number during each lesson.

Schedule of Program

The program ,which is a daily program starts from Monday and ends on Fridat weekly.

  1. Lower Primary: 10 am – 11 am
  2. Upper primary: 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm

  3. JHS : 4. 30 to 5 30 pm

Parents are entreated to check the schedule of lessons and to prepare their wards accordingly.

Plaan International Support

Plan International, has provided the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service with 5 studios to be used for teaching Basic and Senior High School Students using the traditional media, comprising Television and radio.

Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh said this at a media briefing on the preparedness of the Education Sector on the COVID-19 Pandemic in Accra on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

According to the Minister, Plan International Ghana has started its broadcast in the Volta and Eastern Regions to help students in those regions to learn while at home during the Covid-19 break.

Dr Mathew Opoku Prempah said, that Plan International has provided 5 of its studios in Accra, to help the Ministry to involve more teachers to be able to record learning contents in core areas which shall be aired on Television and radio
