EducationGhana, August 31, Feeding Fee: The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said that his Ministry shall come out with an agreement binding Principals and Teacher Trainees in the public Colleges of Education on Refund of Feeding Fee component of the trainees’ allowances.
The Minister in a meeting with the leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) on August 25, 2021, indicate ed that he shall come out with an agreement that will bind both PrinCof and TTAG on the refund of the feeding component of the trainees’ allowances.
According to him, he completely understands the plight of trainees but urges all to remain calm.
He assured the leadership that by September 8, 2021, he would come out with an agreement binding the Principals and the teacher trainees on the refund of the feeding component of the allowances.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has announced the date for the payment of Teacher Traonees’ Allowances with arrears.
The Minister in a meeting with the leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) on August 25, 2021, indicated that the payment shall be due by the end of September 2021.

Purpose of Delay
In a statement issued by the National Secretariate of TTAG on August 27, 2021, the Min sister said the delay was as a result of some unforeseen circumstances but assured the trainees that authorities were have worked assiduously to get the issue resolved.
He also added that plans were far advanced for the payment.

Teacher Trainees Demo
Teacher Trainees in the Country’s Public Colleges of Education have threatened to embark on series of demonstrations to drum home their demand for the government to pay their allowances that have been in arrears for months.
The trainees are also drumming home their demand for the Colleges Principals and the government to settle challenges facing the disbursement and payment if the feeding complement of their allowances.
The leadership of the Conference of Local TTAG (SRC) Presidents in the 46 Public Colleges of Education in a letter dated Friday, August 20, 2021,
to the leadership of the Teacher Trainees AssociationofbGhana (TTAG), National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) and all teacher trainees in Ghana, stated salient reasons for their intended action.
