Ferdinand | EducationGhana | March 29 | GNAT to repost 12 District Secretaries after battling in Court
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has issued a reposting of some 12 District Secretaries who sued the Association over alleged wrongful transfer by the General Secretary.
The 12 District Secretaries sued GNAT at the Accra High Court after they disagreed with their transfers in December 2022.
GNAT in a letter dated March 28, 2023, indicated that the 12 District Secretaries who were reposted on December 6, 2022, but were sued are expected to go to their new stations after they failed to win a second-time court injunction.

Background
The 12 District Secretaries sued GNAT at the High Court, Industrial and Labour Division, Accraprayng that;
A declaration that the posting and reposting by the General Secretary are null and void and of no effect since they violate the constitution of GNAT among the other three reliefs.
Pending the resolution of the matter, they applied and obtained an interim injunction order from the court on the 30th of January, 2023, restraining the GNAT from effecting the reposting. The order was to last for ten days. They later applied to the court on the 8th of February, 2023 for an order restraining GNAT from effecting the reporting until the final determination of the case.
Court’s Response
The court on Tuesday, 28th March 2023 refused to restrain the GNAT from reposting the secretaries.
GNAT’s order
The GNAT thereby directed all 12 District Secretaries to proceed to their reposted (new) stations. All Reginal/Distrvit Secrrtaties are to ensure that the 12 District Secretaries hand over every document and proceed to their stations by the close of Thursday, March 30, 2023.
