The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has indicated that it is the only teacher union to give a ”thank you” package of GH¢2500.00 to its members within two weeks when they retire.

”GNAT is the only union that gives a “thank you” package of Gh 2500.00 to it members within two weeks when they retire.” The Union said.

The leadership made this revelation during May 27, 2022, Local GNAT  Representatives meeting by the Awutu Local GNAT  held at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region.

Affordable Housing

The meeting emphasised President Akuffo Addo’s promise of 10,000 affordable housing units to be provided for teachers within 2years which the president said at the National Delegate Conference of GNAT.

GNAT CANCER FUND

The association reiterated the need to increase the monthly Cancer Fund Contribution of its members from GHC2 to GHC5.

”GNAT cancer fund will be increased to Gh5.00 to cater for you and your spouse and two of your children below 18years for all cancer-related ailments.” The Union said.

MUTUAL FUND

Members of the Association were reminded to as much as possible increase their mutual fund contribution to help them when they retire from active service.

RECORDS

Members as a matter of urgency reminded to upgrade all their records with regards to their beneficiaries for SSNIT, Provident fund and others.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The leadership indicated that the code of conduct has been distributed to all members.
Members should find time to read the book.

TM 1 LAPTOPS

The distribution of laptops to primary schools and Education offices has started in the Ashanti region and will definitely reach all teachers before school vacates.

HEALTH SCREENING

A Comprehensive health screening for GNAT members will come off this year.

SKILLS TRAINING
Vocational training in soap making, shampoo and others for all GNAT members come off this term.

EXCURSION
Excursions for GNAT members will come off in December as well as Inter local fun games.
