Ghana’s Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia met at the ongoing maiden Russia – Africa Summit in Sochi Russia, to discuss matters of Education concern between both countries.
The discussions were centered on the upwards review of the number of Russian Government scholarships granted to Ghanaian students to study in Russia.
They also looked into deepening the cooperation between Russian and Ghanaian universities in key research areas such as how to integrate advance science to Agriculture (food security and logistics management across the value chain).

Both parties also focussed their discussions on STEM education for especially girls, further training in Ph.D. studies and Research; and opportunities for student and faculty exchanges and industrial attachments.
The Russian delegation incudes the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and delegations from Moscow State University and other Russian Research Institutions.
Ghana and Russia have a proud history of collaboration in various fields of endeavor and Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh looks forward to consolidating the relationship particularly in the field of education.
