These “must-have” items are categorized for both day and boarding students, with each item intended to support students’ smooth transition into their new academic environment.

Categories Based on School Placement

According to the GES, first-year students will be required to purchase items from one of the groups (1, 2, or 3), as indicated on their school placement form. This categorization aims to streamline the required items for each school while ensuring that students are adequately prepared for their boarding or day-school experiences.

Preparing for a Smooth Transition

The GES’s detailed list of items for new students is intended to assist parents and guardians in preparing their wards for the next phase of their education. By specifying school-specific requirements, such as shoe colors, belt styles, and dress codes, the GES seeks to maintain uniformity across schools while accommodating the diverse needs of students.

Parents are advised to prepare early and ensure that all items are labeled properly to avoid confusion and loss of belongings during the admission process. As Ghana gears up for the new academic year, students can look forward to a fresh start in their respective schools, equipped with the necessary items for a successful educational journey.
