GES Boss marks birthday with about GH¢80,000 worth of donations to Birim South District Education Directorate

The Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa on Wednesday donated textbooks and other learning materials worth 50,000 Ghana cedis to schools in the Birim South District as part of activities to celebrate his birthday.
Apart from the books, Prof also donated a cash price of GH¢30,000 to the District Education Directorate as a seed fund to support teachers.

He also pledged to give 10% of his salary every month to support the needy in the District.
The gesture, according to Prof, was aimed at supporting the government to provide quality education to residents of Birim South where he comes from.
