The Ghana Education Service (GES) has attributed the delay in Payment of Salaries of Double Track Teachers to Systems and Connectivity failure.
The GES in a statement issued by Dr.Kwabena Bempah Tandoh,its Acting Deputy Director General,on March 20,2019 indicated, that the current delay in their payroll processes wad as a result of systems and connectivity challenges during the migration of the GES from the payroll system onto the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).

“The current delay in our payroll processes is as a result of systems and connectivity challenges during the migration of GES from the IPPD2 payroll system onto the Human Resource Management Information System” He Said.
The GES further indicated that the migration challenge has caused delays in the issuing of staff IDs and the capturing of staff biometric data for processing of required salary payments.
”This has caused delays in the issuing of staff IDs and the capturing of staff biometric data for processing of required salary payments,”the statement added.
The Ghana Education Service has assured its staff with salary concerns, especially on promotions and upgrades, and newly recruited teachers that the staff is working relentlessly to complete all data inputs to enable salary arrears to be paid.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform staff with salary concerns, especially on promotions and upgrades, and newly recruited teachers that the staff is working relentlessly to complete all data inputs to enable salary arrears to be paid.”He emphasized.

No Specific date given for Payment
Though the Ghana Education Service assured its staff of a possible payment of all arrears ,it could not emphasized on any specific date for payment of all salaries due them.
Double Track Teachers angered by the delays
Earlier this week,about 8000 teachers recruited by the government to facilitate the implementation of the controversial double track system under the Free SHS policy, lamented on the delay of their employers in paying their salaries .
The teacher complained they have not been paid their salaries five months after their employment.
It was this agitations that supposedly prompted the Ghana Education Service to come out with a statement explainig the supposed challenges they are facing migrating their data for payment.
