G/A : UCC DESAG organizes Seminar on Skills development and Career Orientation

The Greater Accra Regional chapter of the Distance Education Students Association of Ghana of the University of Cape Coast (DESAG-UCC) has organized a Seminar for students on Skills Development and Career Orientation.

The event which was organized on the theme “Developing Practical Skills in Students for the Sustainable Human Development”.

The seminar took place at the Ghana Girls Guide Center at Achimota in Accra on Monday, December 28, 2020.

Financial Freedom

The students were taken through entrepreneurial skills and ideological development. According to the speaker, students must be encouraged to differentiate between their needs and wants and must be inculcated in them the ability to invest in meaningful ventures.

Men’s Seminar

The event saw a seminar on Fashion and other men related discourse for male students and other male dignitaries.

Speaking at the Men’s Seminar, Mr Gabriel Yeboah, the Chief Executive Officer of Gabby New Luk Clothing and old student of the University of Cape Coast, took the men through proper dressing ethics.

The Seminar saw discussions on men’s dress code including the different types of dress codes for different types of occasions.

The Men’s Seminar also saw discussions on decoration of rooms by men.

According to Gabriel, Men need to decorate their rooms to attract visitors.

He indicated, that the decoration of rooms should consider the colour blending, curtains styles and the type of lighting systems.

Women’s Conference

There was a women empowerment program for the female students to empower them for skills development and the world of work.

The female students were taken through skills training in activities including wig cap making, Bridal Fan making, Hand Sanitizer making as well as the proper Facial Make-up making.
