A diploma in Education is a stand-alone program of study at the University whiles Post Graduate Diploma in Education is a one-year top-up Programme for anyone who has a degree in other fields aside from education and wants to teach in the Ghana Education Service.

Mode of Entry

The mode of entry for a diploma in Education is WASSCE or SSCE while the mode of entry for Post graduate diploma in education is a Bachelor’s Degree in any non-education programme.
Graduates with a non-education first degree can also do a one-year Diploma in Education and still become professional teachers in Ghana and teach in GES.

International Standarad

Postgraduate Diploma in Education is mostly recognised worldwide for graduate teachers with non-teaching programmes.
A diploma in Education is not accepted in most countries, even if you add it to your first-degree non-education course.
