Ferdinand EducationGhana | September 10 | CSSPS Explains How BECE Aggregates Are Calculated for 2025 School Placement

The CSSPS Team has clarified how BECE aggregates are calculated for school placement in 2025, highlighting the role of raw scores, the core subjects, and the importance of confirming choices on the official portal The School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Team has issued an official reminder to students, parents, teachers, and the general public on how aggregates for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are calculated for school placement. According to the team, a candidate’s aggregate is determined by adding the grades obtained in the four core subjects—English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies—plus the best two grades from the remaining subjects.

    This formula is expressed as:

English + Mathematics + Integrated Science + Social Studies + [Any Two Best Subjects] While the raw scores remain the primary metric for school placement, the overall aggregate also serves as an important determinant in the selection process.

CSSPS Portal Active for Confirmation of School Choices

The CSSPS Team further reminded candidates that the CSSPS Portal is live and active for school choice confirmation. Students are advised to log in via the official link: https://www.cssps.gov.gh/hub/login. Candidates who detect any errors or discrepancies are encouraged to use the “Message” option on the portal to submit their concerns. The team assured that its 24-hour support unit is on standby to provide assistance and ensure a smooth placement process.

    Deadline for Portal Access

The portal will remain active until 8th September 2025, giving candidates sufficient time to confirm their school choices and resolve any outstanding issues. The CSSPS Team also encouraged the public to share feedback on their experiences with the portal, to help improve the placement system.
