Consider a change of name to meet new reforms in Colleges of Education – TTAG told

EducationGhana| February 26| TTAG: Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has been advised to consider a change in its name and brand to meet the new changes in Colleges of Education in Ghana.
This was suggested by the Principal and Management of the Abetifi Presbyterian College of Education in the Eastern Region of Ghana to the leadership of the Eastern and Graeter Accra Sector of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG-EGA) on Wednesday,
The principal made this suggestion amongst others during the courtesy call by the leadership of TTAG EGA as part of their sensitization programme.
Applause
During the engagement, the Management applauded the leadership for the step taken and looked forward to seeing more of such engagements,
Proposals
A report filed by the Sector PRM, Boateng Godwin Kwame indicated that a proposal was made to the SECTOR to channel to the National EXECUTIVE COUNCIL to look at the name of the association to meet the reforms which are taking place in the Colleges of Education.
The leadership was also charged by the management to ensure that more engagement be done with as many stakeholders as possible and it should be consistent in that regard on issues of Students’ interest;

be proactive in the delivery of adequate and reliable information to constituents before any other media or person; organizing seminars and activities that would empower and call for academic excellence as well as the total development of the student teachers and amongst many others.
The Principal of the College also challenged the leadership to ensure that all SRCs of the Colleges of Education within the Eastern – Greater Accra Sector of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana have a complete and comprehensive constitution before or by the end of their tenure of office.
Plans
Finally, the leadership revealed to the management some plans laid down, which included but were not limited to, the restoration of the EGA AiD policy, introduction of EGA Academic Information Manager (EGA AiM) mobile app, leadership, empowerment and capacity building Programmes.
They continued to also assure the management that, more of these negotiations and engagements with stakeholders would be seen in the coming days and, in light of this, called for their support and prayers in order to achieve a successful administration.
Representatives
The meeting was attended by OWUSU PRINCE KWABENA (TTAG EGA Sector President) together with AMANORTEY REJOICE (Deputy Sector Secretary), KUWORNU MORGAN MAWULI (Sector Coordinator) and AHENE SARAH KORKOI (Sector Women’s Commissioner).
Also at the meeting include  the SRC of ABETIFI Presbyterian College of Education
