Ferdinand | EducationGhana |May 17|Catholic Pre-Tertiary Institutions to Observe May 18 as Obligatory Holiday
The Catholic Education Unit has declared Thursday, May 18, 2023, as an Obligatory Holiday for all schools under the education unit.
The Catholic Education Unit in a letter written to the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) dated May 11, 2023, reminded the GES of the standing approval of the Obligatory Holiday which will be Ascension Day.
Background to the Ascension Day Holy Day for Catholic Schools
The letter reminded the GES of the statutory directive that binds the holy day which was dated back in February 8, 1957.
All Catholic Senior High Schools and Basic Schools are expected to observe this Holy Day as an Obligatory holiday.
