CAGD Suspends Salaries for March 2025 Due to NIA Number Discrepancies: Urges Immediate Rectification
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has issued a notice confirming the suspension of salaries for March 2025 for employees on the Government of Ghana (GoG) Payroll System. This decision stems from discrepancies identified with the National Identification Authority (NIA) numbers provided for certain employees, causing inconsistencies in the payroll records.
What Caused the Suspension?
In a statement issued on March 20, 2025, the CAGD explained that the GoG Payroll System had detected errors in the NIA numbers of some employees. These discrepancies have led to the temporary suspension of their March 2025 salaries. The CAGD has emphasized the need for accurate identification numbers to ensure the smooth processing and release of payments to all eligible workers.
Steps to Rectify the Issue
To address the problem, the CAGD has requested the submission of a staff list (Nominal Roll) for the affected employees. The heads of Human Resources (HR) in various institutions have been directed to retrieve and review the data from their respective corporate emails. HR departments must submit corrected data, including explanatory remarks for each affected employee, no later than April 4, 2025.
How to Proceed
For the rectification process, institutions must send the corrected data electronically to ppd.nominalroll@cagd.gov.gh and ppdcoordination2@gmail.com. For any clarifications or assistance, employees are encouraged to contact Naakie Osam-Sackey (0244371804) or Michael Arku-Kelly (0554428943).

This step is crucial in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the GoG Payroll System, and the department remains committed to ensuring that all public sector workers receive their salaries in a timely manner.
