C/R: GNAT gives directives for 6th Quadrennial (53rd) Regional Delegates Conference

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) wishes to inform all members of the Union in the Central Region that, in accordance with Article 16 of the GNAT Constitution as amended in 2018 and the Guidelines for the Conduct of Elections in GNAT, the Regional
Branch shall hold its 6th Quadrennial (53rd) Regional Delegates Conference.

 

Below is the conference schedule

Date-  Monday, 28th June to Thursday, 1st July, 2021.

Venue: GNAT HALL Central Region, Cape Coast.
Theme: GNAT@90: Keeping the Torch as a Union of Choice for Teachers in the Central Region for the 21st Century.

As part of the business of conference, there shall be elections of the Regional GNAT Executive Members and Special Representatives of the Region. Positions to contest are:

  1. Regional Chaiman
  2. Regional Vice Chaiman
  3. Regional Treasurer

  4. Regional Trustee

  5. Regional Youth Coordinator

  6. Regional Trustee to the Teachers Fund Board

  7. Regional Coordinator for the GNAT Ladies Society (GNAT) LAS

  8. Regional Representative of Basic Schools

  9. Regional Representative of Senior High Schools

  10. Regional Representative of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute (TVET)

  11. Regional Representative of Educational Administration
  12. Regional Representative to the National Executive
  13. Special Female Delegates (2) to National Delegates Conference

 

Nomination for the various positions shall be opened from 9.00 a.m on 1st April to 4.30 p.m. on 1st June, 2021.

GNAT members whointend to contest the above positions are required to obtain nomination forms from the Regional GNAT Secretariat in Cape Coast or from any of the 13 District GNAT Secretariats in the region.

Completed nominations forms with the relevant attachments should be submitted to the Regional GNAT Secretariat in Cape Coast not later than 4.30pm of Tuesday, 1st June, 2021. All applicants shall avail themselves for vetting by the GNATEC (GNAT Elections Committee) at a date to be communicated to them.
