BECE candidate suffers spiritual attack while writing her first paper

Parents and teachers of a female candidate of the Salvation Army School have resorted to praying while being hopeful that she would be able to write her final exam without hindrances.

The candidate who is currently partaking in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at Mawuli Senior High School in Ho suffered what her parents called a ‘spiritual attack’.

Narrating the incident to Joy News, her father who only gave his name as Prophet said his daughter has been under a series of spiritual attack just after the demise of her mother some years ago.

The loss he said has made it difficult for her to concentrate on anything including her studies. During her first paper on Monday morning, she collapsed and had to be taken out of the examination centre.

“Anytime we are praying, the spirit would manifest through my daughter that it was responsible for the death of my wife and that it was going to make sure that the girl doesn’t write her examination. But by the grace of God, I believe that she will excel,” her father said.

The General Manager of EP Schools of Ghana, Marian J.A Adzroe in an interview said the examination began on a successful note but for the brief interruption by the ‘spiritual attack,’ the candidate suffered.

She noted that the authorities are, however, very hopeful that the 2020 BECE would be one of the best without any hindrances.

Meanwhile, the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Achibald Letsa on his usual rounds in the various centres in the region urged the candidates to avoid any examination malpractices that may result in problems for them.

He wished them success as they proceed to write the remaining seven papers over the next four days.

Dr Archibald encouraged them to put in their best so as to benefit from the government’s Free Senior High School policy come 2021.
