Ferdinand|EducationGhana| October 29| Amedzope College of Education Students demand immediate release of students’ exam results
Students of Amedzope College of Education in the Volta Region Region are calling on authorities to immediately release students’ exam results.
Read Statement below:
We the members of the Coalition of Aggrieved Student-teachers of Evangelical Presbyterian College of Education, Amedzofe wish to draw to the attention of Stakeholders in the Education Sector and the general public on certain troubling issues affecting us.
We represent both Levels of Student-teachers (Level 200s and 300s) affiliated with the University of Ghana, Legon. At level 100, some members of the current Level 300s wrote re-sit but their results never came till now
⚫ During the heat of the Covid-19 pandemic and its ravaging effect on academic work, teaching and learning were moved online. As a result, our second-semester examinations were taken online. However, due to some challenges from the University of Ghana, some trainees could not complete the exam. As a result, such persons were asked to report to campus to re-take such papers.
Unfortunately, the whole results were changed to the disadvantage of the trainees. For instance, a trainee who had an A on the exam portal was given D+ and sometimes failed in the final results. ⚫

Also, some results were posted to our result portal and later had to be taken off. Others found their names among courses that they didn’t offer but they were graded as doing such courses.
Our level 200 first-semester results have not been released or posted to our portal. Fast forward, we are in level 300 second semester now but our level 300 first semester (which ended in June 2022) results still had not been posted or released.
Now, we (Level 300s) raised these concerns several times from level 200 till now to the Management of the College.
The refrain from management each time we complain has been for us to be printing our error-ridden result scripts so they could forward it to the University of Ghana. We have done this more than seven times but still, no changes. It has all been a fiasco and charade.
Now they forced us to pay the exam fees with the threat of not feeding us which they did to defaulters because we had sent a letter to them through our SRC about our intentions not to pay exam fees unless the result issues were fixed. Some of our colleagues succumbed to this and paid.
Now same treatment is meted out to our juniors but we feel MANAGEMENT IS NOT DOING ENOUGH to pressure our affiliate, UNIVERSITY OF GHANA, LEGON, to fix our results.
• About 4weeks ago when we raised the same issue Management told us that the person in charge of our result portal was busy so when he gets the time, he will fix it for us. (I mean for the past three years?????)
⚫ Sadly, the level 200s also have incomplete results. (Facing the same challenge). The level 100s as well is done with that level moving to level 200 but I have never seen any of their academic results.
We have continuously been made to know each time we ask College Management on the result issues that “We are working on it”.
Yet, nothing has been done since. All these back and forth with our exam issues is having untold psychological, physical and emotional effects on Student-teachers. We no longer have the peace of mind to study.
⚫ From the foregoing, if nothing is done immediately to rectify the errors and subsequent release of our results by the close of this month, (31 October 2022) we would be forced to undertake the following actions
1. Effective from 1st November 2022 all two Levels (200 and 300) will boycott lectures.
2. We shall boycott Dining and all social gatherings on campus
3. We shall cease immediately, all payment of examination and other fees to the College
However, should the status quo remain the same after the initial actions, we would follow up to demonstrate to drum home our demands.
