Mrs. Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, the Deputy Director of Public Affairs of the WAEC has disclosed that about 375,737 candidates from 976 Senior High Schools (SHSs) across the country are expected to sit for the forthcoming WASSCE for school candidates, 2020.
the Deputy Director of Public Affairs speaking in a zoom interview with Samuel Eshun on Happy Morning show monitored by Georgeweb.org disclosed that 375,737 candidates from 976 Senior High Schools are expected to sit for the WASSCE exams.
Mr. Godfred Addo, the WAEC Head of school Examinations Administration Department joining the conversation said “currently speaking the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) has finished with the printing of all the 2020 WASSCE question papers and are safe with a 24/7 security guard”

He noted that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will start in August this year and ends on the first week of September 2020.
Mrs. Agnes Teye-Cudjoe added that candidates in Ghana will be writing the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in August but not the Ghana Exams.
She explained that “this is because all the five English-speaking West African countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, the Gambia, and Liberia have agreed to partake in the annual West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
She added that the Council will next week of this month (June) release a new 2020 WASSCE timetable for prospective candidates and the general public.
