The National Executive Council of Ghana Registered Nurses’ and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA), formerly Ghana Registered Nurses’ Association (GRNA) has met today, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, with the leadership of Unposted Nurses groups.

The meeting was meant to share with the media concerns about the plight of our younger colleagues who are in training, those who are doing their internship or rotation and those who have completed their rotation and waiting to be employed, delay in the payment of trainee allowances of up to 11 months, delay in the issuance of Financial Clearance for the permanent recruitment of some new nurses.

Recommendations

Among some of the recommendations made at the end of the meeting was a statement seeking that the Government as a matter of urgency issues the needed Financial Clearance for the payment of all outstanding allowances of trainees and rotation nurses and midwives and for the provision of permanent employment for those awaiting employment in the health sector of Ghana.
