EducationGhana| May 03| 2022: KNUST ranked Africa’s best University in Quality Education:

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been ranked as the best university in quality education in Africa and 14th globally, the management of the Kumasi-based Technology institution has announced.

The position of KNUST in quality education the management in a press statement copied to EducationWeb said was contained in the 2022 Times High Education Impact Rankings published on April 28, 2022.

“This year’s ranking analysed more than 108 million citations across over 14.4 million research publications and included survey responses from almost 22,000 scholars globally,” the KNUST press release dated April 28, 2022, stated.

Explaining processes for the 2022 edition of the ranking, the Science University said Times Higher Education collected over 430,000 data points from 21,000 institutions that submitted data on the sustainable development goals (SDG).

“The outcome of this year’s ranking demonstrates how the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has affected worldwide higher education sustainable indicators,” the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) noted.

The results it said were also based on 13 meticulously calibrated performance measures that access a university’s performance in four areas of quality education: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

“This list included 1,180 universities from 106 countries worldwide. KNUST placed 14th globally with a score of 83.7% and topped all universities in Africa in terms of quality education,” the statement signed spokesman of KNUST said.

KNUST according to its Relations Officer, Daniel Norris Bekoe also beat 1,116 out of the 1,180 universities that fell within this category in the world. The University of Johannesburg came close with a position score of 77.7% in Africa.

The Authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University following the achievement have commended the university’s hardworking staff, students, constructive parents and stakeholders for contributing to the success.
