GES introduces a Self-Posting Portal for newly trained teachers from Public Colleges of Education, allowing them to select preferred placements based on personal and professional criteria.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched a Self-Posting Portal for the posting of newly trained teachers who graduated from Public Colleges of Education in 2022. This initiative aims to streamline the recruitment process and allow teachers to choose placements that best suit their preferences and qualifications.

Application and Selection Process

  1. Application Invitations: GES invited applications from newly qualified teachers on May 22, 2024, who graduated with degrees from Public Colleges of Education. A total of 21,010 applications were received, with 12,784 graduates meeting the qualification criteria.
  2. Self-Posting Module: Qualified graduates can access the self-posting portal on the www.gespromotions.gov.gh platform from July 5 to July 31, 2024. They are required to select their preferred Region, District, and School based on eligibility and personal preferences.
  3. Benefits of Self-Posting: The self-posting module ensures that teachers are posted to regions where they can effectively communicate in the local language (L1), creating a conducive teaching and learning environment. It also allows them to choose schools close to their families, thereby providing economic and social support.

Steps to Access the Self-Posting Platform and Print Appointment Letters

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to www.gespromotions.gov.gh.
  2. Verification: Enter your College Index Number to verify your qualification.
  3. Enter Details: Provide your phone number and NTC number accurately for validation purposes.
  4. OTP Verification: A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your phone number. Enter the OTP to proceed.
  5. Select Preferences: Carefully choose your preferred Region, District, and School from the options available.
  6. Submission: Submit your selection.
  7. Print Appointment Letter: Save and print out your Appointment Letter, which includes a QR Code for validation.

Appointment Letter Verification

  • QR Code Validation: Each Appointment Letter contains a QR Code that can be scanned with a smartphone to verify its authenticity. This measure aims to prevent the circulation of fake appointment letters.

Further Instructions

Successful applicants must proceed to their respective Regional Education Directorates with their Ghana Card and other necessary documents for verification and further directives.

GES’s introduction of the Self-Posting Portal for newly trained teachers marks a significant step towards enhancing transparency and efficiency in the posting process. It empowers teachers to make informed decisions regarding their professional placements, contributing to improved educational outcomes across Ghana.
