2020 BECE: ‘Prospective Pensioner’ aged 57 takes part in Examination,targets Free SHS

A 57-Year-Old woman has broken the odds to take part in the COVID-19 edition of the  Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The woman, Elizabeth Yamoah is a student of the Agona Odoben Presby Junior High School in the Central Region and has become the oldest BECE candidate of the 2020 batch in the country’s BECE history.

The 2020 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) began Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18 at all designated Examination Centres throughout the country.

According to the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), a total of 531,705 candidates are expected to sit for this year’s BECE in 2,007 examination centers across the country.

269,419 of the candidates are males while 262,286 are females.
